Criminal Minds’ AJ Cook and Kirsten Vangsness ‘might quit’ if they don’t get equal pay with male co-stars

Contract negotiations for the 13th season of Criminal Minds are underway, but while people such as Joe Mantegna and Matthew Gray Gubler have signed on to return to the long-running CBS drama, two of its stars are holding out.

Deadline reports that actresses AJ Cook and Kirsten Vangsness are trying to negotiate fairer pay for themselves before committing to another run.

Their characters JJ and Penelope have been on the show since the first season, originally as guest stars before being promoted to regulars.

The publication states that they previously managed to negotiate better pay back in 2013, when they were receiving less than half of their male co-stars’ salary, but this time they are willing to quit the show if they don’t achieve some sort of parity.

This situation is similar to what happened with The

Criminal Minds: Season 13; Kirsten Vangsness & AJ Cook May Not Return

Criminal Minds TV show on CBS: (canceled or renewed?)

Criminal Minds has already been renewed for a 13th season, but will the whole cast return? Deadline reports stars Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook may be leaving the CBS TV series.

The long-running crime procedural follows a unique team of profilers for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. The cast includes Vangsness, Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, Adam Rodriguez, Damon Gupton, and Aisha Tyler

According to Deadline, both Vangsness and Cook have asked for equal pay with their male co-stars, and so far contract negotiations have reached a dead end. In 2013, the duo successfully negotiated a raise after being paid “less than half of what their male counterparts including Gubler and Shemar Moore were making.”

However, now it’s unclear if the result will be the same. Both Vangsness and Cook have reportedly said they

Joe Mantegna & Matthew Gray Gubler Set ‘Criminal Minds’ Return …

EXCLUSIVE: Criminal Minds veterans Joe Mantegna and Matthew Gray Gubler have closed new deals to continue on the long-running CBS drama series, recently renewed for a 13th season. However, I hear Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook are currently at an impasse in their negotiations as the actresses are seeking parity with their male co-stars.

The duo, who are negotiating together, took a similar stand during the 2013 negotiations as the two at the time consistently had been paid less than half of what their male counterparts including Gubler and Shemar Moore were making. Back then, Vangsness and Cook eventually reached new agreements with ABC Studios, CBS TV Studios and CBS, though I hear they are willing to walk this time if they don’t get some parity with their veteran co-stars, putting the

We learn nothing from Ian Brady. We’re just fetishising him

Gerald Kaufman. Chuck Berry. Tim Pigott-Smith. Ian Brady. Following his death last week, Brady – “The killer who showed no remorse” – became the subject of a BBC obituary, an honour the corporation did not extend to his more prolific colleagues Fred West and Harold Shipman, nor, indeed, to the parents of Brady’s victims. Winnie Johnson, the mother of Keith Bennett, died in 2012 without knowing where her son was buried, the murderer being keen to protract her suffering.

While by no means a eulogy, a BBC obituary can’t but establish Brady as a notch above the common run of murderer, which appears to be precisely how he viewed himself. Only the very greatest of the celebrities whose premature deaths punctuated 2016 enjoyed comparably extensive memorialising, both red-top and broadsheet, featuring extended analysis of his alleged influence on the national consciousness.

If nobody actually wrote: “Ian Brady

See Paul Bettany as the Unabomber in new Discovery series

Discovery is taking you to an isolated cabin in the woods this summer to unspool the story of one of America’s most reclusive and elusive domestic terrorists.

On Aug. 1, the network will unveil Manhunt: Unabomber, an eight-episode drama about the real-life search for the mysterious individual who perpetrated a 17-year bombing campaign that killed three and injured 23. Ted Kaczynski, a.k.a. the Unabomber (played by Paul Bettany), was no quotidian criminal. The math prodigy enrolled at Harvard at 16, was subjected to cruel psychological experiments, and became a Berkeley professor before retreating to Montana, where he lived without running water or electricity. There, he masterminded a crusade of terror against universities, airlines, and others — and vowed to stop only if his 35,000-word anti-technology manifesto was published. With the help of forensic linguistics employed by criminal profiler James “Fitz” Fitzgerald (Avatar’s Sam Worthington) and Ted’s brother,  David (Togetherness‘ Mark Duplass), Kaczynski
