New seasons of ‘Mr. Robot’ and ‘Supernatural’ among top TV choices (videos)

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two returning series and two newcomers are among the top TV choices for the week:

“The Story of Us” (9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, National Geographic Channel): Morgan Freeman returns as host and narrator for this six-episode follow-up documentary series to the channel’s ratings winner “The Story of God.” This time, with events seemingly driving cultures apart, the National Geographic team goes on a global journey in search of fundamental forces that keep societies together. Freeman travels around the world, “revealing the common humanity that lies inside each of us.”

“Mr. Robot” (10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, USA): Cybersecurity engineer and computer hacktivist Elliot (Rami Malek) was shot by Tyrell (Martin Wallstrom) in the second-season finale of the acclaimed cable drama. The third season begins with Elliot regaining consciousness right after the shooting. Bobby Cannavale adds to the mystery this season, joining the series as a regular.
