Netflix has a history of producing excellent crime television, and the premium streaming service has done it again with ‘Manhunt: Unabomber’.
The crime series based on infamous US serial killer, “Unabomber” Theodore ‘Ted’ Kaczynski has been copping some seriously rave reviews, namely for its brilliant scripting, cinematography and strong acting.
Australia’s very own Sam Worthington stars as FBI Agent and Criminal Profiler Jim ‘Fitz’ Fitzgerald who pioneered a completely new way to catch criminals in his quest to take down the Unabomber, played superbly by British actor Paul Bettany.
The eight episode series depicts the brilliantly intelligent and unique way Fitzgerald caught the serial killer, and the uphill battle he faced convincing his colleagues to believe in his newfound and edgy techniques.
It also sheds a light on the cost it had on Fitzgerlad’s personal life and mental health, while also providing a humanising backstory to one of the United States most infamous killers.
Do yourself a favour and check it out on Netflix.
