Katherine Calvin presents on “The Brit Abroad”

Guilford College took a trip back in time on Wednesday, Jan. 24 when Visiting Lecturer in Art History Katherine Calvin gave a lecture entitled “The Brit Abroad: Travel in Portraiture and Landscape, 1750-1815.” Calvin’s presentation focused on the evolution of British art over time. This semester, Calvin is teaching two art classes at Guilford, “Introduction to Visual Arts” and “Arts of Asia, Africa and the Americas.” Aside from her work at Guilford, Calvin is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate teaching fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

Guilford Hosts Blood Drive

The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, an independent, locally managed, nonprofit community blood center, gave Guilford students, faculty and staff the opportunity to save up to three lives by donating blood at the Guilford College Community Blood Drive held on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
