‘Criminal Minds’ Season 13 News: Shemar Moore Returns as Morgan in Upcoming Episode

A familiar face is returning to the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

Shemar Moore will be reprising his role as Derek Morgan on an upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds” season 13, reports confirmed. The “S.W.A.T.” star is slated to appear as a guest star on the CBS procedural drama following his stint in season 12. He will appear in the current season’s fifth episode, which airs on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

The 47-year-old actor was a series regular on “Criminal Minds” from 2005 to 2016, after a total of 11 seasons and 252 episodes. In his last episode, Derek had survived a dangerous kidnapping. He decided to leave the BAU in the end to prioritize his personal life and family.

‘Criminal Minds’: Shemar Moore To Reprise Derek Morgan Role

Derek Morgan is returning to the BAU.  S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore is set for a guest spot on CBSCriminal Minds to reprise his role as Morgan. He’ll appear in the fifth episode which airs Wednesday, October 25 at 10 PM on CBS.

Moore was an original Criminal Minds cast member from 2005-2016. When we last saw Morgan, he had survived a harrowing kidnapping and was leaving the BAU to focus on life and family. In the Criminal Minds episode, Morgan returns to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with a case that has affected her emotionally.

TBS’ Tracy Morgan Comedy Enlists Cedric the Entertainer

Tracy Morgan’s TBS comedy continues to build out its cast.

Cedric the Entertainer, Criminal Minds alum Taylor Mosby and The New Edition Story actor Dante Hoagland have signed on for roles in The Last O.G.

The half-hour centers on Tray (Morgan), an ex-con who is shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released on good behavior from a 15-year prison stint. Returning to his newly gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood, he discovers that his former girlfriend, Shay (The Carmichael Show‘s Tiffany Haddish), has married an affable, successful white man who is helping raise Tray’s twin sons who he never knew existed. Shemar Moore Returns as Derek Morgan on ‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 Finale

Fans are welcoming back Shemar Moore, who will be making a return to “Criminal Minds” current season 12 finale as a guest star. Moore will once again play Derek Morgan in the finale, which is set to air on Wednesday, May 10.

‘Criminal Minds’: Shemar Moore To Reprise Derek Morgan Role In Season 12 Finale

Shemar Moore is returning to Criminal Minds. CBS just announced Moore will guest star in the 12th season finale on May 10, reprising his role as Derek Morgan. In the episode, Morgan brings the BAU a lead in the case against serial killer and escaped convict Mr. Scratch, who has wreaked havoc on the team all season.

Moore, an original cast member, exited the show last March after appearing in 251 episodes. His character, Morgan, had survived a harrowing kidnapping and decided to leave the BAU to focus on life and family. In a letter to fans explaining Moore’s surprise departure, executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer said it was Moore’s decision to leave the show “to try new things.”
