Derek Morgan is returning to the BAU. S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore is set for a guest spot on CBS’ Criminal Minds to reprise his role as Morgan. He’ll appear in the fifth episode which airs Wednesday, October 25 at 10 PM on CBS.
Moore was an original Criminal Minds cast member from 2005-2016. When we last saw Morgan, he had survived a harrowing kidnapping and was leaving the BAU to focus on life and family. In the Criminal Minds episode, Morgan returns to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with a case that has affected her emotionally.

Here’s something to chew on during the remaining summer hiatus, Criminal Minds fans: Jamie Kennedy is set to reprise his role as serial killer Floyd Feylinn Ferell, TVLine has learned.
Kennedy, who first played the cannibalistic cretin in Season 3’s “Lucky,” will appear in the sixth episode of the CBS drama’s upcoming Season 13.
“It’s going to be so much fun,” showrunner Erica Messer told TVLine at CBS’ summer press tour soiree. “It’s going to dredge up a lot of reminders for the team and the struggles that people had with faith in that episode.”

Shemar Moore, who made a surprise departure from CBS’ “Criminal Minds” last March, is now making a surprise return to the series.
CBS announced on Thursday that the actor will reprise his role as Derek Morgan, one of the agents with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), on the May 10 season finale of the crime procedural. In the episode, Moore’s character will provide the BAU team with a lead in the case against serial killer and escaped convict Mr. Scratch.

Moore left the series last March after 11 seasons in an episode that found Morgan resigning from the BAU. CBS had not publicized the actor’s final appearance, which came unexpectedly to viewers. After the episode, Moore shared a farewell video with fans in which he said, “This is not ‘goodbye’ but goodbye to this part of the dream.”

Shemar Moore is returning to Criminal Minds. CBS just announced Moore will guest star in the 12th season finale on May 10, reprising his role as Derek Morgan. In the episode, Morgan brings the BAU a lead in the case against serial killer and escaped convict Mr. Scratch, who has wreaked havoc on the team all season.
Moore, an original cast member, exited the show last March after appearing in 251 episodes. His character, Morgan, had survived a harrowing kidnapping and decided to leave the BAU to focus on life and family. In a letter to fans explaining Moore’s surprise departure, executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer said it was Moore’s decision to leave the show “to try new things.”
